Cycling in the Alpes-Maritimes region of France (just above the Côte d’Azur) is all about climbing. It’s all either up or down and filled with incredible views across valleys to an endless string of mountains and gorges, with old, stone villages sitting atop hills every few kilometers. This is a wonderful cycling region, one of the most popular in all of velo-obsessed France and a draw for cyclists from Europe and beyond. But only if you like climbing.
