Tarzan Hits Paris

Tarzan Hits Paris

Tarzan swings out of the African jungle and into the Musée du Quai Branly this month.

Focusing on the exotic images and mythology behind the King of the Apes and his mate Jane, the new exhibit examines how popular culture looks at Africa, drawing on a range of influences, from the 1893 World’s Fair in Chicago to Darwin’s theory of evolution. Featuring photographs, books, original plates from comic books, and even a special stand where visitors can try to win a trip to Africa by imitating Tarzan’s famous jungle cry.
