French Film Review: En Attendant Bojangles
Fun-loving couple Camille (Virginie Efira) and Georges (Romain Duris) are mad about each other – and mad about music, partying and anything really, other than being responsible grown-ups. At home there is room only for fun, fantasy and friends.
Until one day when Camille sets the family home on fire.
Doctors diagnose her with bipolar disorder, bordering on schizophrenia, and predict that her condition will get worse over time. Devastated and desperate to rescue her from a possible life in an institution, Georges and their son Gary (Solan Machado-Graner) kidnap her and head for the Spanish border… but Camille soon has another crisis. It’s at times funny, very moving and there are sterling performances from all.
Director: Régis Roinsard
