Konstantin Ishkhanov Announces Return of ModComFest in Paris Dedicated to Michel Petrossian

All set to make a grand comeback in September and October 2025, the fourth edition of the Modern Composers International Music Festival (ModComFest), organised by President Konstantin Ishkhanov, is titled Portrait des Compositeurs d’Aujourd’hui: Michel Petrossian and will soon make its mark in the cultural hub of Paris, celebrating the extraordinary musical achievements of Michel Petrossian, an innovative French-Armenian composer acclaimed for his ability to bridge the richness of ancient civilisations with inventive and futuristic sounds.
Helmed by renowned cultural entrepreneur Konstantin Ishkhanov, who has dedicated his longstanding career to fostering artistic industries with a deep commitment to the realm of classical music, the upcoming musical affair, which first premiered in 2016, is poised for success. The visionary has garnered a shining reputation in the fields of art and culture over the years, with a biography that spans an array of globally acclaimed projects and revolutionary festivals, along with a myriad of individual masterclasses and courses.

Konstantin Ishkanov shared that ModComFest is a particularly special endeavour for him as it exemplifies his commitment to highlighting the works of contemporary composers, saying, ”The Modern Composers International Music Festival is an incredible project for classical music and culture worldwide. Dedicated to well-known composer Michel Petrossian, this year’s dazzling celebration embodies the ability to create a lasting impact on audiences and transcend musical boundaries while bridging the past and the present through the magic of classical music.”
The 2025 edition in Paris is prepared to feature a fascinating blend of modernised and traditional music performances highlighting essential aspects of Michel Petrossian’s life and work, a composer who boasts a diverse repertoire that spans concert halls, film scores, ballet, and opera, with performances at esteemed venues like Carnegie Hall and Théâtre du Châtelet.

Expressing his excitement for the festival, the maestro shared, “Konstantin Ishkhanov reached out to me and explained that he organises remarkable festivals for important composers around the world and expressed interest in featuring my pieces. As someone who is particular about the organisations I work with, I find it exciting to be involved in this project with a professional team that truly knows what it’s doing. I feel very fortunate to have friends and music enthusiasts like Konstantin Ishkhanov around me who appreciate my art and support my interesting projects. Following our conversation, we developed three concepts for the concert, highlighting essential aspects of my life and work.”
Featuring three stunning concerts, ModComFest 2025 will play host to sensational performances at some of the most iconic venues in Paris, with international musicians performing the composer’s illustrious works. Petrossian highlighted the significance of these events, explaining, “The festival starts on September 20, 2025, with my vocal music, namely Chanter l’icône, which will be showcased at Auditorium du Petit Palais, one of the most influential museums in the heart of Paris,” he continued, ”It features a production set to music performed by the variable-geometry choir Ensemble Musicatreize conducted by Roland Hayrabédian. The second performance will be held on October 2, 2025, at Auditorium du CRR de Paris, featuring t8.4 Concerto for Cello and Orchestra. It features Alexander Chaushian as the soloist, accompanied by the French ensemble 2E2M, conducted by Léo Margue. Lastly, Sept, les anges de Sinjar is conducted by Bruno Montovani and will be presented on October 3, 2025, at the Théâtre de Saint-Maur. This ballet, inspired by Yazidi imagination and mythology, is co-written with Aram Hovhannisyan and previously premiered at the Monte-Carlo Spring Arts Festival.”
