Event Description

The Palais Garnier is commemorating its 150th anniversary with a series of exhibitions highlighting its rich history and cultural significance. From September 2024 to January 2026, a curated selection of costumes from ballets and operas performed at the Paris Opera since the 1950s will be showcased in the public areas of the Palais Garnier.

Additionally, in partnership with the Bibliothèque nationale de France, an exhibition titled “The Palais Garnier Turns 150” will be held from October 14, 2025, to February 15, 2026, at the Paris Opera Library-Museum within the Palais Garnier. This exhibition delves into the transformation of the theater from an elite venue commissioned by Napoleon III to a national emblem and iconic monument renowned worldwide for its unique program of ballets, operas, and concerts.

These exhibitions offer visitors a unique opportunity to explore the artistic and historical journey of the Palais Garnier over the past 150 years.
