Down to Earth Festival

Villa Albertine is delighted to announce that three of its Theatre & New Forms Grantees will perform at New York City’s inaugural Down to Earth Festival, organized by the Martin E. Segal Theatre Center at the CUNY Graduate Center.

Held in New York City parks across Brooklyn, Manhattan, and Queens, the Down to Earth Festival will bring together an array of international performers in dance, theatre, and contemporary circus directly to neighborhood communities. Events are free of charge and will be held from August 29 through September 7, 2025.

Our Theatre & New Forms grantees performing in the Down to Earth Festival include circus acts Cie Basinga (France) and SenCirk (Senegal), as well as performance artist Elise Vigneron and the Théâtre de l’Entrouvert (France).

Villa Albertine is a proud partner of the Down to Earth Festival. Our Theatre & New Forms grants, founded in 1999, cultivate the development of creative works in contemporary theater, circus, puppetry, street theater, and hybrid forms through issuing grants to French or US nonprofit institutions.
