Oradour Objets en héritage

Oradour Heritage Objects at the Oradour Memory Center presents from April 7, 2023 objects that belonged to the inhabitants of the village before the massacre of June 10, 1944. These objects have been recovered, preserved, transmitted since that date.

The exhibition shows that they are still today the traces of this drama, that is to say of the execution of an entire population, 643 people from the youngest to the oldest of its inhabitants, and also of the materiality of the violence exercised.

These objects preserved and transmitted, often within families, have for some of them been loaned for the occasion. The exhibition allows you to discover the history of this transmission, as well as the first desires to collect, preserve the surviving objects and even to exhibit them.
