St. Nicholas’ Festival
Event Description
Every winter, Nancy celebrates Saint Nicholas, the patron saint of Lorraine, with a lively programme of festivities that brings the city’s streets and squares to life. The celebrations include colourful parades, street performances, illuminated displays and a traditional Christmas market offering local crafts and seasonal treats.
At the heart of the festival is the story of Saint Nicholas, whose legendary generosity has made him a beloved figure in eastern France. Families gather to watch the grand parade, featuring Saint Nicholas himself alongside fantastical characters and floats. With concerts, cultural events and festive activities throughout the city, the festival is a highlight of the Christmas season in Lorraine.
