Fère-en-Tardenois

In Fère-en-Tardenois, in the heart of the forest, thanks to the gentle rustling of the leaves of centuries-old trees, the atmosphere is fantastic and we understand why Robert de Dreux chose this site to build his castle.

A few years later, the Constable of France, Anne de Montmorency adorned it with new finery, to further enhance it. He commissioned Jean Bullant, an essential architect of his time, to whom we owe the Palais des Tuileries, and the gallery of the Château de Chenonceau. The latter would also have been inspired by the imposing work with five arches which spans the moat of Fère-en-Tardenois.
Listed as a historic heritage site since 1843, the castle of Fère-en-Tardenois is today a must for lovers of history and romantic sites. Its enchanting ruins invite you to completely disconnect and stroll for a moment, out of time.

The former outbuildings of the castle are today an exceptional hotel whose rooms and suites faithfully perpetuate the history and prestige of the place. The icing on the cake is a vaulted cellar that would make Bacchus green with its prestigious wine library.
At dusk, slip away onto the terrace to enjoy a moment of silence. At a time when the glowing light of the setting sun sets its thousand-year-old ruins ablaze, the castle of Fère-en-Tardenois offers itself to you for unforgettable moments.
