Le Manoir Caché

As you drive through the little town of Merdrignac, and turn into the tree lined drive, you will catch your first glimpse of the Manoir through the cascading leaves of the tree lined drive. As you draw closer, the Manoir Caché reveals itself.

The rooms are light and spacious, with high ceilings and beautifully large windows. Each room has been individually designed with care and attention, breathing life, light and colour back into once neglected spaces. The dining room on the ground floor is a wonderful place to breakfast, with the morning sun filtering in through the windows, and the south west facing terrace is the perfect spot to enjoy a leisurely evening meal before retiring inside for a peaceful night’s rest.

The covered veranda on the second floor offers an enormous airy space up in the trees and with views stretching out over the fields. It is perfect for some gentle exercise in the morning, or a relaxing drink in the afternoon.

The guest salon is tranquility itself, a delightful place to sit and put your feet up with a book from our collection.
Three ensuite guest rooms range over the first and second floors of the main house, with glorious views out onto the tranquil garden setting. The Sage room is the largest of the three guest rooms. It is located on the first floor, at the top of the carved wooden staircase. Named for its soothing colour palette, and the ancient herb bush growing in the vegetable garden outside, the Sage room offers a soothing mix of grandeur and serenity. With a king size four poster bed and generous ensuite complete with walk-in shower, the room is the epitome of spaciousness, peace and luxury. Thyme is a vibrant room with dramatic patterns and bespoke design features. With a glamorous ensuite bathroom with walk-in shower, and sweeping views over the garden, you’ll find charisma combined with a sense of lightness and luxury. Thyme has a king size bed, which can be divided into twin beds as required. The Lavender room offers a cosy and peaceful experience. The high ceilings, calming colour palette, and lovingly restored antique queen bed combine to create an elegant and comfortable space.

Le Grenier and Le Fraisier, two annexes off the main house with their own separate entrances, offer spacious and secluded studio-style alternatives. Le Grenier has been lovingly restored from an old grain store to a stylish bohemian space, with a bedroom and ensuite nested under the A-Frame beams upstairs, and a spacious living area with kitchenette downstairs. Le Frasier is the Manoir’s mobility accessible space, with bed and living room, spacious ensuite and kitchenette all on the ground floor.

The beautiful and atmospheric Ivy Cottage is the newest addition to our collection. With three artistically designed and curated bedrooms: Briar, Berry & Bramble, two luxurious bathrooms, a fully fitted kitchen, and its own al fresco dining patio area, Ivy Cottage is the perfect space for the family looking for a unique self catering option for their vacation.

The garden is one of the most remarked upon aspects at Le Manoir. The front garden is lush, overgrown and mysterious, with giant trees, granite stairs and ivy covered statues, perfect for wandering and imagining. The back garden is a large sunny expanse of grass, with a vegetable garden and orchard in each corner, and a croquet pitch that can be set up for an evening game!

There are plenty of wonderful spots to sit in a lounger and relax in the sunshine, and the intoxicating smell of the flowers, and the gentle buzzing of the bees, are sure to put you completely at ease.
