Christmas in France: A Photo Tour from the Loire Valley to Alsace
It’s the most wonderful time of year in France. From the historic Christmas markets in Alsace to the glorious chateaux of the Loire Valley, the country is showing off marvellous holiday decor. For those who can’t be here in person, photographer Krystal Kenney has been travelling around France capturing the magic of the festive season. Take a photo tour, stopping by the Château de Chenonceau, the famous 15th century chateau which straddles the River Cher, before hopping on the TGV for a quick jaunt to Alsace (it’s less than 2 hours from Paris to Strasbourg on the high-speed train). The fairytale Christmas markets of Alsace are not to be missed– particularly in Colmar and Strasbourg. Steeped in tradition, these Marchés de Noël offer artisanal gifts, gourmet delights, children’s activities, and live entertainment the whole family will enjoy.
