Le Tour de France

Although doping scandals have robbed the tour of its former luster, it’s still the world’s most prestigious cycling race. The 96th annual Tour this year starts in Monaco, on the Mediterranean coast, and circles 3,500 kilometers (2,175 miles) through southern, central and eastern France, ending with the traditional grand finish on the Champs-Elysées.
