French Film Review: 30 Jours Max, Directed by Tarek Boudali

Put a smile on your face with this larger-than-life comedy directed by and starring Tarek Boudali, of La Bande à Fifi fame, a French comedy troupe bringing together Philippe Lacheau, Élodie Fontan, Reem Kherici and Julien Arruti. Boudali plays Rayane, a cowardly and clumsy police officer who is the long-suffering butt of his colleagues’ jokes.

Told (wrongly, as it turns out) by his doctor that he only has 30 days to live, he is hit by the realisation that this is his only chance to be a hero and impress fellow of officer and love interest Stéphanie. From coward to fearless hothead, Rayane sets out to catch the boss of a drugs ring. It may not be César material but what it lacks in subtlety it more than makes up for in visual gags and belly laughs.
