The iconic ocean liner docked in New York on Saturday, July 1 at 11.45am French time, having completed the journey from her build port of Saint Nazaire in five days, 16 hours and 45 minutes.
Closing the gap on New York is François Gabart whose team Macif is currently the trimaran in the lead, with around 400nm left to travel as of Sunday afternoon.
Behind them with 477nm still to cover is Francis Joyon’s Idec Sport team, while Thomas Coville’s Sodebo Ultim still had 552nm to go before seeing the Statue of Liberty.
Bringing up the real is Actual, lead by Yves Le Blévec which had 997nm to go.
Le Blévec said: “It has been alright, because even if we’re not super fast, there is a lot of work on board Actual to adapt the wings and adjustments to the very variable conditions.”
