Past winners include Sandra Smith for her translation of Suite Française by Irène Némirovsky and Richard Howard for his translation of The Charterhouse of Parma by Stendhal.

Among this year’s finalists: Alison Anderson for her translation of The Elegance of the Hedgehog by Muriel Barbery, and Julie Rose for her translation of Victor Hugo’s Les Misérables.
