Jay-Z Buys Armand de Brignac Champagne Brand

American music mogul Shawn Carter, AKA Jay-Z, is getting into the French wine business. He recently acquired Armand de Brignac Champagne, known as “Ace of Spades” because of its glittery bottle insignia. Produced by Champagne Cattier, which has been around since 1763 in the town of Chigny-les-Roses, the Champagne is made by eight people and sells for $300 a bottle.
Jay-Z has long been a fan of this luxury bubbly, which he featured in a 2006 music video. The New York Times Dealbook reports that Jay-Z and his wife Beyoncé hosted a fundraiser for President Obama at the 40/40 Club in Manhattan “that included a tower of 350 bottles of Armand de Brignac Champagne.”In addition, Jay-Z used to be a part owner of the Brooklyn Nets basketball team, and owners of the “Vault” suites at the Barclays Center arena are treated to Armand de Brignac Champagne at the bar.
The third richest hip-hop artist in the world, Jay-Z has diverse business interests in sectors ranging from clothing to restaurants. For more information about Armand de Brignac, visit www.armanddebrignac.com.
