The Art Nouveau dome – just recently restored to its full majesty – overlooks 45,000m2 of retail space across seven floors, with numerous areas for relaxation and refreshments on each floor, including the legendary terrace. Open to all, the 800m2 panoramic space offers unimpeded views of the Paris rooftops, including the Sacré-Coeur, the Eiffel Tower and the Palais Garnier. And if you are hungry, don’t worry: Galeries Lafayette has 25 restaurants and cafés in total, including Mama Sens, Petrossian and Café Coutume.

For a fourth season, chef Julien Sebbag has set up shop on the roof terrace of Galeries Lafayette Paris Haussmann to introduce Créatures, a pop-up summer restaurant that is 100% vegetarian. Open from 10 a.m. until midnight.

From July 5 to August 31, Galeries Lafayette Paris Haussmann will be showcasing French style and art de vivre while celebrating the revival of the ‘French Touch’. During this festive event, you will discover a selection of the most emblematic brands and personalities as well as an artistic programme exploring the ‘French Touch’ in the present day.

It has also opened the biggest shoe department in Europe, with 200 brands gloriously displayed in a recently restored 4000m2 space. From limited-edition designer sneakers to the signature styles of the biggest names in luxury fashion, the range of footwear on display includes numerous models exclusive to Galeries Lafayette.

ENVIRONMENT FIRST

Three years after launching the Go for Good label to spotlight products that are better for the environment, the store has launched Galeries Lafayette (RE)Store, where you can revamp, resell and recycle.This new space dedicated to circular fashion brings together vintage designs, responsible brands and innovative services. It offers everything from one-off pieces and eco-friendly products to luxury items lovingly recovered by second-hand fashion specialists. It also provides a range of services, such as allowing customers to drop off their old clothes for recycling.

Then there are the new Instabrands, a selection of the best labels created on social media by a new generation of designers who are setting up their first physical space in Galeries Lafayette. Names you may recognise include Songe Lab, Janne Mill, Pretty Wire and Seven August. It’s your first opportunity to discover these brands IRL.

While you’re here, why not spoil yourself by indulging in the full luxury experience? Hire a personal shopper from the expert team of multilingual, experienced stylists, or book a fashion or beauty consultation. Talking of convenience, travellers will be pleased to know 15 different currencies are accepted with your Mastercard or Visa, and tax-free shopping for non-European residents allows an immediate 12% VAT refund, by card, for a minimum €100 purchase (can be cumulative over three days in a row). Don’t worry – keeping track couldn’t be easier, with the new automated dedicated tax refund area ready to offer assistance on the first floor of the Coupole building.
