Palavas-Les-Flots Tourism Office Launches New Souvenir Collection

Palavas-Les-Flots Tourist Office, near Montpellier, Occitanie, has undergone a major investment renovating its offices with a new beach-themed décor and launching a bright and colourful souvenir collection.

The transformation at the popular Hérault seaside resort follows the appointment of Laure Pasquet, director, of the Office de Tourisme et Congrès de Palavas-Les-Flots, who joined the department in April this year. Prior to that, she was Executive Vice-President of the Office de Tourisme et Palais des Congrès de La Grande Motte for 16 years.

The Tourist Office is located in the iconic Phare de la Méditerranée (Mediterranean Lighthouse), and the products are on sale in the shop inside. Gifts include beautiful straw beach bags, water bottles, postcards, mugs, magnets, key rings, tote bags with pink flamingos and more. There is also a dedicated space to locally produced food and wine.

This region of Occitanie is especially known for its wild birds and pink flamingos that rest on the protected saltwater lagoon, the Étang du Méjean, which forms part of the greater Languedoc lagoon complex.

“For this new boutique, we’ve rethought the decor, bought new furniture and renovated the interior with decorative accessories including fishing nets, ropes, rattan mirrors and house plants, marking a dynamic change in the tourist office. We want to be more attractive, boost our visibility, invest in sustainable development and revitalise our business and our communications,” said Pasquet. “This means that as we promote our shop, tourists can stop by the lighthouse during their stay before returning home.

“For this new collection, we have chosen products that respect the environment, with manufacturers who are local and eco-friendly. It was important for us to show our commitment and our desire to preserve the natural area that surrounds us and the town of Palavas-les-Flots.

“And finally, we have a corner dedicated to some local products from the region, including biscuits from Montpellier and olive oil from an estate north of Montpellier.”

Palavas Tourist Office is open every day from 10am-6pm in Place de la Méditerranée, Palavas-Les-Flots. The new collection can only be found in the shop onsite and the Tourist Office does not sell online or send by delivery.  The new beach bags cost €35 and are available in five different colours: blue, green, yellow, orange and pink.

Within the same iconic lighthouse, Le Phare bar and restaurant offers a 360 degree viewing platform and is open every day (except Monday) from 12-2pm and 7.30pm-9.30pm (with the exception of 12-2.30pm on Sundays.
