Saving Purnon: An Australian Couple’s Quest To Restore A French Masterpiece

Tim Holding and Felicity Selkirk set out to restore the 105-room Château de Purnon in 2020. Located in the north of the Vienne department, their home is one of the most remarkable 18th century Louis XVI chateaus in France today – but after a century of neglect is in grave peril. The Australian couple dove right in and are working tirelessly to save Purnon from ruin. In 2021 they commenced the urgent works to restore the château roof and facades. On this online event, Tim and Felicity share with us what first led them to embark on this daunting adventure, and the highs and lows of the journey so far.
