Alexandre Desplat and the London Symphony Orchestra

The man behind the musical scores of some of your favourite films, Alexandre Desplat, will take the baton at the Philharmonie de Paris for one night only. The multiple award-winning French film composer, who’s racked up a slew of Grammy Awards, Golden Globe Awards and an Oscar, will lead the LSO through an aural tapestry of some of his most famous works.

Pieces from such films as The King’s Speech, The Grand Budapest Hotel (for which he took home the golden statuette), The Curious Case of Benjamin Button, Girl with a Pearl Earring and The Queen will feature, backed by a projection of scenes from each film. This is a possibly unique chance to catch the maestro live, in the grande salle of the capital’s newest concert hall, before he’s lured back to Hollywood.

Philharmonie de Paris: November 22 at 7pm. Tel: +33 1 44 84 44 84. Ticket pricse from €10-€70.
