Les Plus Beaux Villages de France, or Most Beautiful Villages of France is a French label awarding the most picturesque and typical villages in the country.

This label is destined for small villages – less than 2000 inhabitants – with a strong local heritage, and at least 2 local landmarks.

Each village applying for the label has to respond to several criteria. The villages have to demonstrate that they make all the efforts to highlight and preserve their local heritage, architecture, and environment.

Visiting a Most Beautiful Village guarantees a unique experience! Each village represents a unique local culture, with its habits and traditions.

Once there you will also find local artisans, artists, antiques and local products shops.

This is also your chance to taste the local gastronomy and wines!
