Ladies First!
elles@centrepompidou
The Pompidou Center periodically rearranges its permanent collection, and the newest presentation devotes some three-quarters of the available space to works by women in all disciplines of 20th-and 21st-century art: painting, drawing, sculpture, photography, video, design, cinema, architecture—some 500 works by 200 artists including Valérie Belin, Sophie Calle, Helen Frankenthaler, Gisèle Freund, Zaha Hadid, Marie Laurencin, Joan Mitchell, Germaine Richier, Dorothea Tanning and Suzanne Valadon.
Originally planned to be on display through the end of May 2010, the exhibit has now been extended, and will run through February 2011.
