Color It Black & White

Given the tenor of the times, the Paris Spring/Summer 2009 Haute Couture shows traded opulent extravagance for a more subdued vision of luxury dressing. With Karl Lagerfeld at Chanel in the lead, the message was black and white and short all over, with just a dash of red or chartreuse here and there to add some hot spice to the salt and pepper season.
