The artful “I do”

The  industrial city of Bobigny, north of Paris, has commissioned artist Hervé Di Rosa to decorate the room at City Hall where marriages are performed. The Salle des Mariages is an explosion of color thanks to this French painter in the vein of American graffiti artists Keith Haring and Kenny Scharf. Di Rosa has plastered the walls of the wedding room with marriage-related images: The chairs look like hearts with legs, and the mayor sits in the lap of a sculpture with open arms. Kitsch? Or a chance to turn your wedding into an art happening?
