French Film Review: Antoinette Dans Les Cévennes

School teacher Antoinette, played by the fabulous Laure Calamy of Call My Agent! fame, is looking forward to a romantic getaway with her lover Vladimir, the father of one of her pupils. Alas, it is not meant to be because Vladimir’s wife has already booked a donkey-trekking holiday in the Cévennes for them and their daughter.

Not to be outdone, Antoinette heads off on her own adventure, following in the footsteps of her lover and his family (and Robert Louis Stevenson, of course) with her very own stubborn mule by the name of Patrick. Laughs aplenty and lots of silliness set against the gorgeous scenery of the Cévennes make this an irresistible treat.

Director: Caroline Vignal
Starring: Laure Calamy, Benjamin Lavernhe, Olivia Côte, Eric Cantona
