Film Review: Le Trésor du Petit Nicolas

This is one for the kids, or anyone who read and fell in love with the Petit Nicolas books as part of their French language classes. Our hero is nine-year-old Nicolas, whose greatest love is playing with his gang of school pals, “The Invincibles”, with whom he gets into all sorts of scrapes. But when his dad gets promoted and announces that the family is relocating to the South of France, Nicolas’ world falls apart.

He cannot contemplate life without his friends. Equally horrified at the news, The Invincibles come up with a plan to put a stop to the relocation plan once and for all: a treasure hunt! Beautifully filmed with great performances and plenty of laughs, it’s a joy from start to finish. It might even help improve your French!
