La Vallée Village Launches Summer Festival
Located in the suburban town of Serris, just below Disneyland Paris, La Vallée Village is a high-end open-air outlet centre presented as a quaint French village
One of the many things I enjoy when visiting Paris is shopping. Finding discounts and bargains on fashion by outstanding French and international designers adds the “icing to the cake”. So, I was thrilled to learn that La Vallée Village, the beautiful designer outlet village just outside of Paris, in Seine-et-Marne, is the place to be this summer as it bursts with fashion and launches its first festival dedicated to the art of living.
Beginning June 1st, La Vallée Village welcomes visitors to its F.A.M.E. festival celebrating Food, Art, la Mode, and Entertainment. Until September 10th, shoppers and fashionistas are invited to enjoy a unique, fully immersive artistic and cultural program. Visitors can also experience augmented reality, VIP master classes, workshops, hip happenings, performances, exhibitions and encounters with experts and stars in their respective F.A.M.E. fields.
A celebration of French lifestyle
All the senses will be ignited with offerings to taste haute-cuisine by master chefs, chances to relive beautiful cinematic moments or to discover the “it -bag” of exclusive designs at the “Made in France” pop-up concept store dedicated to fashion, accessories and lifestyle.
Art takes centre stage as part of the F.A.M.E. festival as La Vallée Village welcomes three renowned artists. The festival’s principal artist, Cyril Lancelin, has taken over the village’s landscaped avenues with eye-popping installations. He has even redesigned the benches which provide a perfect place for a shopping break or even an artistic selfie. Artistic installations by gifted street-artist Jordane Saget lend a contemporary urban feel to the windows and cobblestone paths, and sculptor Richard Orlinski completes the transformation of the village into an open-air gallery with his original pop-up.
In this beautiful setting that looks like a picture postcard, I set my mind to shopping among the over-120 boutiques ranging from luxury to mid-range brands. Shopping works up an appetite and I had many choices where I could take a break from my marathon shopping spree. Along with the gastronomic and chic bistro Menu Palais, gourmet snack choices include Ladurée and Pierre Hermé for delicious macarons, and an Amorino food truck – a great place to grab une glace.
I was in luck because the village is celebrating all things culinary, yet another part of the F.A.M.E. festivities. A new all vegan restaurant, Wild and the Moon, not only offers masterclasses and workshops during the festival, but also a ‘signature’ vegan dish created especially for La Vallée Villlage. Also, you can refresh your tastebuds at the pop-up Vero Latte, straight from Italy, featuring organic ice cream made with exceptional ingredients. To top things off, Thibaut Spiwack, the chef who inspired the character of Gabriel and his restaurant L’esprit de Gigi in the Netflix series Emily in Paris, is offering an exclusive à la carte signature green dish at the Menu Palais from May 26th through June 9th.
From shopping to street-art to culinary surprises, get ready to enjoy the summer spirit and mark your calendars as La Vallée Village comes alive!
