The Colour Palette of a Tarte Tatin

The Colour Palette of a Tarte Tatin

To celebrate this year’s 150th anniversary of Impressionism, Eureka – the tourism agency for the Eure region in Normandy – has joined forces with the Eure department and Pantone, the world’s top-of-the-range colour reference, to create ‘Première Impression’ by Pantone. It offers a colour chart inspired by Impressionist masterpieces and the richness of the Eure landscapes, as well a culinary delight enjoyed there, tarte Tatin (which was actually invented in Loir-et-Cher). The reddish-brown, caramel colour evokes apples, cider, Calvados and, more broadly, the generous gastronomy of the Pays d’Auge. The warm tone draws its inspiration from the work Les Galettes by Impressionist master Claude Monet.
