Green France: Eco Discounts in Normandy & Green Restaurants

The Normandy region continues its commitment to sustainable tourism with its Low Carbon Rate programme, which sees visitors able to claim entry fee discounts on a wide range of sites… if they can prove they arrived by train, coach or bike. The initiative, aimed at reducing the carbon footprint of car-using tourists to the northern region, already features more than 70 cultural and tourist sites including museums, châteaux and other professionals in the sector. On arrival at a partner site, eco-conscious visitors present a dated train ticket to a station in Normandy, a bus ticket or a photo of their bicycle. With its extensive rail connections and public transport network, Normandy prides itself on being one of France’s premium car-free destinations.
