What’s On in Paris: West Side Story Ciné-Concert

Ciné-concerts, featuring a live performance of a movie’s score while it’s playing on the big screen, are currently riding a wave of popularity in Paris, with Lord of the Rings, Billy Elliot and Gladiator recently delighting audiences.

The latest film to receive this treatment is West Side Story, the multiple award-winning 1961 film adaptation of the Romeo and Juliet-inspired Broadway musical of the same title, a romantic drama about two youngsters from warring New York City gangs who fall madly in love.

You can experience the film’s magic once again as part of this ciné-concert, which will see Leonard Bernstein’s iconic score performed by Ludwig Wicki’s 21st Century Symphony Orchestra.

West Side Story Ciné-Concert at Le Grand Rex, 30 January – 1 February, 2015, 8pm. Price €34.50-€95. Tel: +33 1 44 94 91 58
