Celtic Extravaganza

Celtic Extravaganza

This year the Festival Interceltique de Lorient welcomes its Celtic cousins from across the Atlantic.

From Acadia to Louisiana, via Quebec, New Brunswick, Cape Breton Island, Nova Scotia, Boston and New York, the charming coastal town of Lorient (Brittany) will resonate with the accents of the North American East Coast. The 54th edition of this renowned annual event brings together more than 4,500 artists from Celtic nations and diaspora communities worldwide. Since the 16th century, hundreds of thousands of Europeans have emigrated to America, particularly from France, Ireland and the British Isles, shaping transatlantic cultural ties that endure to this day. Visitors can enjoy traditional music, dance, art and cuisine, plus the Grand Parade of Celtic Nations, featuring 3,500 performers.
