Interior Designer Tim Corrigan Hosts American Library in Paris’ Literary Salon

As part of the American Library in Paris’ plan to be a gateway to the cultural riches of Paris, the American Library Salons celebrate the intersection of literature, design and the creative legacy of Paris.

In September 2024, the American Library in Paris (ALP) unveiled Vision 2027, a three-year strategic plan to enhance the Library’s impact and outreach. The plan centers on four key elements: Illuminate, Champion, Empower and Ignite – each aimed at deepening the Library’s connection with its local and global communities. The Champion initiative pillar significantly expands the Library’s reach of the best that Paris has to offer, exploring the intersection of literature, arts and culture.

Under this umbrella, the Library welcomed significant donors to the Paris apartment of world-renowned and acclaimed American interior designer, Timothy Corrigan. It was an evening of unforgettable warmth, community and elegance. This exclusive apéro dinatoire chez M. Corrigan included a private tour of his apartment followed by a presentation of his designs and his newest book, At Home in France: Inspiration and Style in Town and Country. In his third book, he shares his love for decorating and living in his latest Paris apartment and new château, while inspiring us to bring French chic into our lives.

Timothy Corrigan has been named to virtually every top designer list including the AD100, the Luxe Gold List, and the 1stdibs 50. He is the only American honored by the French Heritage Society for his restoration of several national landmarks in France.

Timothy’s apartment quite literally took my breath away. It is an absolute feast for the senses.  Every room tells a story of history, luxury, and effortless sophistication, blending classical grandeur with warmth and livability. Timothy’s tour was magical, as he explained his ideas and thought processes and mesmerized us with his engaging personality. Whether it be an apartment or chateau, he has remodeled opulence to suit a modern lifestyle with beauty and comfort.

An evening experiencing Timothy’s genius and appreciation for art, history, architecture and interior design was a perfect entrée to the American Library’s Vision 2027 quest. This ambitious vision plans to expand knowledge, foster cultural exchange and inspire creativity. The Library is poised for an exciting journey among an expanding local and global community.

Operating as a non-profit cultural association in France, the ALP celebrates the written word. As part of Vision 2027, the Library offers members and friends an opportunity, through several philanthropic programs, to support and shape its future.
