New York: Denis Darzacq’s “Hyper”

French photographer Denis Darzacq combines inspiration from modern techniques in photo technology, such as a super-fast shutter speed, with a splash of brightness from an unusual locale to create Hyper. The bold lighting and product packaging of supermarchés in Paris and Rouen ensconce Darzacq’s subjects in 15 colorfully banal commercial worlds.

His subjects, all young, experienced street dancers, twist and flip into gravity-defying poses, lending the photos a supernatural air among the everyday.
