Full of charming streets and picturesque squares, the historic city center is next to the Garonne River. 4. TAKE A TOUR OF CHÂTEAU KIRWAN IN MARGAUX
Established in the early 18th century, Château Kirwan was one of the few Medoc properties that Thomas Jefferson, the Ambassador to France and future President of the United States visited on his Bordeaux wine tasting trip. Château Kirwan is now celebrated for producing some of Margaux’s most powerful, elegant, and rich wines.

5. TASTE THE CANELÉS
Don’t leave Bordeaux without trying these delicious Bordeaux specialties made with eggs, butter, milk and flour, and traditionally flavoured with vanilla and rum. Baked in special fluted moulds, these small pastries have a crunchy, caramelized exterior and a soft and custard-like interior. They are popular with locals as a dessert or snack.

About Us
SLL Perigord Travel was started by a Frenchman whose family has owned a castle in Perigord since 1764 and his wife, a sixth-generation Texan who moved to France in her 20’s. Their combined love for the region led to their desire to share it with people who, though they may already know Paris, have yet to experience the remarkable beauty and rich history of this exceptional corner of France.
