French Film Review: Chien de la Casse
This coming of age comedy centres on childhood pals Dog and Mirales, who live in a small village in the south of France and spend most of their days just hanging out on the streets. Out of boredom and to kill time, Mirales has got into the habit of teasing Dog – perhaps more than he should. A new strain is put on their friendship when Elsa arrives in the village and soon becomes Dog’s love interest. Not surprisingly, Mirales becomes consumed with jealousy. Mirales will have to let go of his past in order to grow up, and find his place. It received seven nominations at the Césars and won for Most Promising Actor (Quenard) and Best First Feature.
