Food Festivals in France: Journées de la Gastronomie in Èze, Côte d’Azur
Every autumn the medieval town of Èze, on the Côte d’Azur, is the place to be for foodies. And this year promises to be no exception. From October 13 to 15 the pretty coastal nook in the south-easternmost corner of the Hexagon will play host to the Journées de la Gastronomie festival, attracting VIP guests from France’s culinary elite as well as some of the hottest up-and-coming talent.
The packed schedule features open-air workshops led by Michelin-starred chefs, tasting sessions of some of the highest quality ingredients in the country, and demonstrations showcasing extravagant and tricky cooking techniques – all set against the panoramic backdrop of the dazzling Mediterranean. And that’s not all. The event is set to be a treat for all the senses, with olfactory workshops run by prestigious parfumeur Fragonard – just in case you need a little respite from all those delicious cooking smells…
The gourmet festival will kick off with cocktails on the Friday evening, followed by two days of events from 10am until 6pm each evening. On the Saturday night, festival-goers will get to scoff to their hearts’ content at a special gala dinner.
