France 24 is an international, Paris-based news and current affairs television channel launched in 2006 whose mission statement is to “cover international current events from a French perspective and to convey French values throughout the world”.

Almost a decade later, the channel has certainly found a niche for itself and this impressively slick mobile app provides a great mix of the latest Francocentric news and magazine-style reportage features plus sports, business and weather.

Most importantly, everything is presented in a choice of English, French or Arabic. This is key – we believe that a great way to learn the language is to switch to French mode and follow the story with the accompanying pictures.
