Champagne Cruise

Ever since he founded O Château in 2004, young sommelier Olivier Magny has been conducting English-language wine tastings in Paris that are relaxed, informative and downright fun. An energetic and engaging connoisseur, Magny offers everything from one-hour tastings of three wines to day-long  visits to the Champagne region. But the most sparkling attraction on his Paris roster is the champagne-tasting cruise on the Seine, held in a private salon at the front of a river cruise boat with a private deck. As you enjoy views of Seine-side Paris, a sommelier will serve you three different champagnes—usually a demi-sec, a brut and a rosé from boutique wineries—answering any questions you may have about champagne’s history, fabrication and different styles, while also commenting on the passing landmarks. The one-hour cruises depart from near the Eiffel Tower at 6 pm—a perfect aperitif for a magical evening in Paris.
